A Night In Jalan Alor

Jalan Alor is a unique food destination in the heart of Kuala Lumpur located within the Bukit Bintang area. The whole character of the city changes when you step onto the street. During the day, there is not much activity but when sun goes down, the street will be hustling and bustling with activity.

If you do every visit Kuala Lumpur as a tourist, then Jalan Alor is one of the most famous street food area that foreigners or travelors will flock into this street. 

Some of the best culinary delights that Malaysia has to offer are not at the swanky overpriced restaurants but right at the sidewalks, in the rows and rows of hawker stalls. On Jalan Alor, these stalls will take up both sides of the road selling food that best represents Malaysia. This is not just a place for the locals but foreigners also frequently visit here to taste the unique dishes that they would probably not be able to taste back in their country. 

Jalan Alor is filled to the brim with various restaurants and food stalls. Among all, Wong Ah Wah stands out for their BBQ chicken wings - a dish loved by both tourists and locals so we decided to give it a try.

And It Was Surprisingly Good!! The one quality that separates Wong Ah Wah's from the rest is the evidently stronger-than-usual smokiness that gives it that unique flavour. Seasoning wise it's actually pretty mild hence it must be eaten with their well-made chili sauce for an extra kick.

This meal came to a grand total of RM160 which is also inclusive of 5 herbal drinks. Considering the amount of dishes we had, I'd say it's slightly expensive. In term of food satisfaction, it is a mix of hits and misses, but the latter are not terrible enough to deter a return visit.
